The 4th Annual St. Patrick's Day
Parade in Cottleville was a huge success in regards to attendance. 2011 had
record attendance of 30,000 and this year those numbers doubled as Cottleville
streets filled with record numbers of 60,000 - 80,000 people. The unexpected
thunderstorm, before the Parade completed, caused difficulty transporting
patrons to and from their cars and allowing easy departure from the parade
grounds.
The Cottleville St. Patrick's Day Committee wants to apologize
for any inconvenience this may have caused. This issue was problematic in and
around St. Louis for all 3 major parade venues on Saturday.
We are 100%
committed to the future success of the Cottleville St. Patrick's Day event. We
will make every effort possible to safely accommodate future patrons while
managing unexpected severe weather conditions. |
